Product Review: High Flow Steam Filters

High flow steam filter applications are unique, most high flow applications use lower pressure steam for safety purposes. This usually means high flow and low pressure requires large or multiple filters to effectively filter the steam and maintain the low pressure. High flow applications normally require a large pipe connection.

The typical large single element filter has a limit to the steam capacity and inlet/out size it can handle, before it needs to use multiple filters in series. This can be very expensive due to the number of housings being purchased as well as the connection piping for pre and post filter assembly.

However Micropure’s High Flow Steam Filters are designed with this in mind. They protect expensive equipment, maintain processing efficiency and reduce downtime. As well as protect valves, process equipment and process filters from damage. And most importantly protect you product purity.

Similar to Micropure’s standard steam filter, the high flow steam filters use their patented woven stainless steel filter media – supported by stainless steel segmented discs.

Why you need Culinary Steam

Culinary rated Steam Filters are filters remove 95% of particulates 2 microns or lager. However with Micropure's absolute rated filter media it will be removing 99+% of particulates at your chosen micron level. Micropure offers media in 1, 2, 3, and 5 micron ratings to fit your exact requirement. More than the media:

A Stainless Steel housing and a segmented element design support the filter media. This design helps maintain its integrity and absolute rating under conditions that cause conventional sintered media to disintegrate and lose effectiveness. Micropure Filter media can be easily cleaned or back flushed in place removing the need for acid cleaning or frequent disposals. Their segmented design allows you to only have to replace the filter media instead or having to replace the entire element. how to rinse with less water!


We all know it's common to find three out of four tanks devoted to rinsing.  This  step is necessary to:
  • Stop any action of a chemical solution.
  • Prevent the contamination of a subsequent process.
  • Prevent chemical staining of the work.
Good rinsing with small amounts of water has always the goal, but in today's regulation dominated world.  Reducing water lessens the load on waste treatment systems and makes recovery more practical. 

The purpose of counter-flowing rinses is just to conserve water.  By increasing from one to two rinses, you can same 20 to 100 times the water.

Why you need sterile tank vents

Sterile tank vents reduce batch contamination, product loss, and spoilage. Effective sterile submicron filtration is a necessary part of any sterile process. This is especially important in consumables such as food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. Sterile vent filtration protects your product from submicron particle contamination and bacterial growth or transfer.
 
To reduce the possibility of contaminating your product during emptying and filling of vessels a tank vent or breather filter is essential. This filter will help maintain safe, balanced pressure during the process.
